The Early Ireland range covers Ireland’s artistic history up to about 500 A.D., including designs such as the Newgrange threshold stone and Knowth labyrinth (Stone Age), the Lisnacrogher “scabbard goddess” (Bronze Age), and the Ballyshannon man-hilt (early Iron Age).
The designs in the Mediaeval Ireland range are drawn from the period from 500 to 1600 A.D., ranging from Book of Kells knotwork to mediaeval sheela-na-gigs and Tudor-period rose mounts. This is where you will find, among many other things, our selection of classic “Celtic Knotwork” and intertwined-animal designs.
The Viking Ireland range draws from the Viking excavations in Dublin and a selection of Scandinavian pieces, which show the rich artistic tradition shared by the Vikings and the Irish. Some of the pieces in this range include Hiberno-Norse penannulars, Thor’s Hammers, gripping animal-designs, and such charming and unique designs as the Dublin Viking “Wolf with Ball”.
Our Celtic Traditional range includes many designs that have become an integral part of the Celtic heritage: thistles, shamrocks, Claddagh rings and pendants, and a Celtic harp based on the harp of Turlough O’Carolan.
The Inspirational range is drawn from the deep well of Celtic legend and spirituality. Here, you will find such things as goddesses, dragons, mistletoe leaves, rowan berries, and Celtic crosses ranging from the traditional woven Brigid’s Cross to the magnificent carvings of the Iona Crosses and our original Book-of-Kells-inspired St. Brendan’s Crosses.
